U-M-Dearborn reaches out on MLK Day

More than 300 students, faculty and staff members from the U-M-Dearborn volunteered at schools and community agencies in Southest Michigan as part of the campus’s observance of the national holiday marking Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. In a corridor at the Thomas Gist Academy in Inkster, (from left) student services assistant Lanier Phillips; administrative assistant Nancy A. Lemkie, academic secretary Sharon Fawk; and mathematics lecturer Helen Santiz painted a mural depicting the school’s mascot.
