MQR summer issue out
An essay on democratization in Russia by U-M history professor William G. Rosenberg highlights the summer issue of Michigan Quarterly Review (MQR).
In addition to Rosenberg’s “New Russia” and the Democratic Predicament, other works by U-M writers include “Menace II Society: No Way Out for The Boys in The Hood,” by Grant Farred, visiting assistant professor of English; “Phoenix From The Ashes: The Burnt Archive From Petra,” the University’s 1996 Henry Russel Lecture by classical studies professor Ludwig Koenen; and “Art and its Enemies, Academic and Otherwise,” a review by Gorman Beauchamp, adjunct associate professor of English, of Wendy Steiner’s The Scandal of Pleasure: Art in an Age of Fundamentalism.
