U-M-Dearborn honors six student, one adviser for volunteer, leadership activities
Six U-M-Dearborn students and one student adviser were honored for their leadership and volunteer service at a ceremony on April 3.
“The leadership awards recognize the year-long achievements of students, faculty and staff as well as student organizations that positively impact student life and growth at U-M-Dearborn and the surrounding community,” says Richard T. Sypula, director of the Office of Student Activities.
Students and advisers who received awards are:
Joan Bush, lecturer in English composition, adviser to the Michigan Journal, the U-M-Dearborn student newspaper; Monica Riesner, president of the Pre-Professional Health Society and member of the Student Leadership Team; Lunette Jones, president, campus chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, who received the community service/volunteer award;
Amy Quinn, editor of the Michigan Journal ; Joseph Gutowski, chairman of the Student Activities Board; Alicia Kolar, vice president of student government and member of U-M-Dearborn Agenda for Women; Corey Hilton, president of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi and member of the Dearborn Campus Organization of Economists.
