Deadline to nominate staff, teams for engineering staff awards is May 3

May 3 is the deadline for nominations of individuals and teams for the College of Engineering’s Excellence in Staff Service Awards. The awards “recognize the vital contributions that staff make to the College’s success” and are given annually to outstanding employees. Winners receive a $1,000 cash award and a framed citation and are announced at a collegewide reception which will be held in June.

The 1996 selection committee includes three 1995 award winners: Virginia Wait, administrative manager; Kurt Hill, student adviser; and Kent Pruss, senior engineering technician. Diana Scheer, procedures analyst, and Linda Burkhart, faculty appointment assistant, also will serve on the commit tee.

All full- and part-time regular, non-faculty employees in the College, regardless of length of service, are eligible. Nominations will be accepted for individual staff members, staff work groups (two or more staff members who function as a group) and teams. Temporary employees, students, faculty and previous award winners are not eligible for consideration.

Nomination forms are available in College of Engineering departments and administrative offices. Submit nominations by May 3 to Jamie Rutlege, Engineering Administration, 2305 EECS 2116. Questions about the program can be addressed to Pat Shaneyfelt, 763-5564, or Judith Pitney, 763-2596.
