Danos accepts Dartmouth post
Paul Danos, senior associate dean and the Arthur Andersen and Company Professor of Accounting at the School of Business Administration, has been appointed the ninth dean of the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. He will take up his new post July 1.
“I am delighted that Paul Danos will be the next dean of the Tuck School,” said Dartmouth President James O. Freedman in announcing the appointment last week. “We anticipate that he will provide the vigorous leadership required of one of the nation’s leading business schools.”
In a message to Business School faculty, Dean B. Joseph White said that Danos’ appointment “is a wonderful and appropriate recognition of Paul’s administrative and leadership abilities. It is a superb opportunity for him, and certainly reflects well on Michigan.
“Paul Danos,” he continued, “has brought total dedication, creativity, energy and attention to his work at the Business School for over 20 years. Much that is visibly exciting about our school today is attributable to Paul’s vision, drive and determination.”
Commenting on his tenure at the U-M in a message to faculty, staff and students, Danos said he appreciated “being allowed to participate in the Business School along with you. We have achieved levels of student learning, student quality, faculty talent, research output, programmatic innovation, corporate partnering, campus outreach and global coverage which are truly remarkable.
“I want to express my profound appreciation to the faculty who, even in this blizzard of programmatic change, have delivered the highest quality output of research and teaching. I want to commend the administrative team with whom I have worked so closely in the last four years. They are talented professionals who are dedicated to serving the students and faculty.”
