Computer virus outbreak detected

Early in February, the Information Technology Division (ITD) discovered viruses on some computers at the Angell Hall Courtyard Computing Site.

Several computer viruses, including AntiCMOS, Monkey, NoInt, Stealth_boot and V-sign were found on some of the Dell Pentium-90 computers at the site. ITD urges anyone who used one of those computers between mid-January and Feb. 3 to check any disks they might have used in those machines for viruses.

If you find an infected disk, ITD has set up a station at the Angell Hall site dedicated to detecting and removing viruses. Consultants are available and telephone assistance is available at 764-HELP.
