“De Colores—Our Cultural Richness” is the theme of this year’s Hispanic/Latino/Latina Heritage Celebration. Events are planned this month and throughout October.

Sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Office of Academic and Multicultural Initiatives, “De Colores—Our Cultural Richness” features lectures, professional development workshops and cultural programs.

Oct. 6, reading by Columbian-American poet Maurice Kilwein Guevara, author of Post Mortem, 5 p.m., Rackham Amphitheater. Co-sponsored by the Department of English and the Latino/Latina Studies Program.

Oct. 11, “Latino/Latina Health in the U.S. and Health Care Reform: Challenges for the 21st Century,” Robert E. Torres, assistant professor of health administration, Eastern Michigan University, 7 p.m., Kuenzel Room, Michigan Union.
