U-M-Dearborn’s School of Engineering has received a one-year grant of $250,000 from Ford Motor Co.
The grant will support the Center for Engineering Education and Practice, an innovative program that incorporates practical experiences and traditional educational methods to help students develop proficiency in engineering practice, design, innovation and concepts of manufacturing technology, according to engineering school Dean Subrata Sengupta.
In awarding the grant, Ford officials said they hope it will help increase interaction with various Ford activities.
Dearborn Chancellor James. C. Renick noted that “support such as this enables us to continue work of importance not only to U-M-Dearborn and to our students, but toward the realization of this region’s great potential.”
