The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education will hold a public hearing 9 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Vandenberg Room, Michigan League.
Senators scheduled to hear testimony include subcommittee chair John J.H. Schwarz, R-Battle Creek; Jon Cisky, R-Saginaw; and Jackie Vaughn, D-Detroit.
Speaking on behalf of the U-M will be Provost Gilbert R. Whitaker Jr., Vice President for Research Homer A. Neal, School of Business Administration Dean B. Joseph White and U-M Hospitals Director John D. Forsyth.
Appearing on behalf of the Presidents Council of State Universities will be Council Chair Dieter Haenicke, president of Western Michigan University; Michigan State University President Peter McPherson; and Presidents Council Executive Director Glenn Stevens. Also scheduled to testify are representatives of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Michigan.
