Museum of Art schedules trip to Italy in May

The Museum of Art again this year is offering a trip to Italy, focusing on Italian villas and palaces. The trip is scheduled April 30–May 13.

From bases in Florence and Venice, the tour will visit some of the most beautiful villas and gardens in Italy. Home base in Florence will be the U-M’s Villa Corsi-Salviati. Travelers will stay in the Hotel Metropole in Venice.

Trips include visits to Volterra and San Gimignano, the Medici villas and gardens at Poggio a Caiano and Careggi, Urbina and the Palladian villas in and around Vicenza.

Cost of the trip is $3,350 per person, double occupancy, and includes roundtrip air fare from Detroit, land transportation in Italy, lodging and three meals per day in Florence, breakfast in Urban and Venice, guides, evening programs and admission fees. Single supplement (where available) is $300.
