English Prof. Ejner J. Jensen will launch the Presidential Lecture Series on Academic Values with a lecture titled “Arresting Changes: Visions and Values in the University” at 4–5 p.m. Oct. 13 in Rackham Amphitheater.
Jensen also is chair of the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs.
The special 175th anniversary lecture series, focusing on academic values, offers an opportunity for some of the University’s distinguished scholars to share their thoughts and beliefs on academic issues and to stimulate a general discourse about these issues throughout the campus.
Each lecture will be followed by a discussion with faculty respondents, including series moderator President James J. Duderstadt, and a reception in the Assembly Hall.

April 8, Harold R. Johnson, dean of the School of Social Work and professor of social work and of health behavior and health education, “The Mathematics of Multiculturalism: Challenges and Opportunities.”
