Sexual Assault reported on South University Avenue
A student reported Jan. 2 being assaulted by an unknown subject while walking on the sidewalk near West Hall in the 1000 block of South University Avenue. The suspect was arrested, and a warrant was authorized.
Sexual Assault Reported at University Hospital
A Michigan Medicine employee reported Jan. 7 that on Dec. 24, 2021, a patient inappropriately touched them while working at University Hospital, 1500 East Medical Drive. The victim decided not to prosecute, and the case is closed.
Aggravated Domestic Assault at East Quad
A student reported Jan. 11 that they were assaulted by their boyfriend while in East Quad. This case is under investigation.
Sexual Assault Reported in East Quad
A student reported Jan. 23 that they may have been sexually assaulted in East Quad by an acquaintance. This case is under investigation.
Aggravated Assault at Mott Children’s Hospital
A hospital employee reported Jan. 23 that a patient threatened to stab them with a pen. The patient put down the object and complied with security officers. The case was sent to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center supplies reports to inform the university community about incidents of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking that are reported to SAPAC. SAPAC is a resource for survivors, their families and friends, U-M personnel (faculty, staff and U-M Police officials) and non-U-M personnel (e.g., high school counselors). The table reflects only the number of cases reported to SAPAC, and includes reporting by faculty, staff and students. The numbers do not necessarily reflect the number of incidents on campus, nor do they reflect the number of cases that occurred in a specific time frame. They also do not reflect the number of cases that may have been reported to police.
