Applications are now open for the Institute for the Humanities’ new Summer Fellowship program for tenured and tenure-track faculty and lecturers II, III, IV.

Founded in 1987, the institute promotes interdisciplinary research and discourse in the humanities and the arts. The purpose of the new Summer Fellowship is to support an intellectual community that will spend eight weeks in residence in the institute.
Summer Fellows will pursue their research and participate in a cross-disciplinary, twice-weekly fellows seminar coordinated by the institute’s director June 26 through Aug. 18.
The selection committee looks for applicants and projects that will benefit from and contribute to the interdisciplinary nature of the group of fellows and the work of the fellows seminar. It seeks to achieve variety and balance in the disciplines represented by the fellows.
Projects are judged based on promise and significance of the proposed research project; the humanities and arts content of the project; and the quality, significance and breadth of the applicant’s prior work.
The deadline for receipt of applications is noon April 2. Results will be announced April 16.
