The organizing committee for the second annual Michigan Universitywide Sustainability and Environment Conference is accepting abstracts until Nov. 9.
The MUSE Conference, which will take place Feb. 14-15, 2018, at the Michigan League, is the annual flagship event of the MUSE Initiative. Its purpose is to foster connections and collaborations across the broad range of sustainability and environment-related research at the University of Michigan.

Involvement is welcome from U-M researchers from across disciplines in the arts, humanities, and the social, physical, natural and engineering sciences.
“Last year’s conference attendees came from 25 different departments and schools, and that gave rise to some really thought-provoking conversations,” said Lizz Ultee, a doctoral candidate in climate and space sciences and engineering and MUSE organizing committee chair. “For this year’s conference, we’re hoping for even broader involvement from faculty, staff, practitioners and especially early-career researchers.”
Abstracts on topics related to sustainability and environment may include, but are not limited to, human behavior, environmental history, policymaking and governance, corporate social and environmental responsibility, public health, built environment and infrastructure, land use, energy, water, climate and ecosystems.
The MUSE Conference offers an interactive space, spread over two days, that will support the formation and discovery of deep connections across disciplines. It will bring together scholars across the university for interdisciplinary lectures, panel discussions, and a poster session.
Thematic facilitated workshops will allow researchers at all career stages to engage in structured collaboration and discussion about emerging developments and debates in cross-cutting research topics.
A closing public reception at the Zingerman’s Greyline event space will bring MUSE into the broader Ann Arbor community.
