Two crime alerts issued in early October
Police continue to investigate two recent incidents that prompted crime alerts October 7 and 8. A sexual assault in Nichols Arboretum was reported to have occurred about 8 p.m. Oct. 7 and an armed robbery about 1:45 a.m. Oct. 8, just south of Central Campus in the 1200 block of Cambridge Court. Details about the incidents can be found at dpss.umich.edu/news/crime-alerts/. Anyone with information about either incident is urged to contact police.
Two assaults reported in Health System
In separate incidents, two patients reportedly grabbed two staff members. One incident occurred Sept. 11 in the Frankel Cardiovascular Center and the other Sept. 27 and 28 in University Hospital. Neither staff member wished to pursue charges.
Patient alleges assault during procedure
On Sept. 28, a patient reported that she believed she was sexually assaulted by an unknown person during a medical procedure Jan. 25. The investigation is ongoing.
Patient charged after assaulting staff member
A 42-year-old Ypsilanti man has been charged with two counts of assault on a University Hospital staff member. The man, who had been seeking treatment in the Emergency Department, was arrested after the Sept. 7 assault and taken to jail.
Subject identified in Diag assault, robbery
An 18-year-old Ypsilanti visitor has been identified in connection with a Sept. 9 assault and robbery of a 22-year-old Ann Arbor visitor on the Diag. The victim had reported to police that he had been assaulted by a group of subjects, some of whom were his acquaintances. He reported that his cell phone and cash had been taken during the incident. The Ypsilanti man has been cooperating with the police investigation.
Two subjects found trespassing in unoccupied building
Staff from a U-M contractor reported to police that they found two unknown, unauthorized subjects inside an unoccupied U-M building Sept. 7 in the 400 block of South Division. The subjects left the building and no property was reported missing.
Kiosk fliers found burning
A Housing Security officer found fliers posted on an exterior kiosk near Stockwell Hall burning Sept. 14. The officer extinguished the fire without further damage. There are no suspects in the arson.
