The project will revitalize approximately 24,500 square feet on the first floor and construct an addition of approximately 18,000 square feet. The addition will be constructed on the west side of the building, facing Regents’ Plaza and the iconic Cube sculpture.

“Our goal is to help students more fully explore their interests and passions, and to give them an even greater advantage to thrive after graduation in work and in life,” says LSA Dean Andrew D. Martin.

The LSA Opportunity Hub is a college initiative dedicated to pairing the skills of a liberal arts education with real-life experience, strategic advising, and the benefit of connecting with employers and alumni. It will serve as the central location for students to connect their liberal arts education to their life and career goals.

Students also will be connected to LSA and universitywide opportunities such as internships, funding and mentoring.

The project also includes architectural, electrical and mechanical work.

Funding will be provided from LSA resources. The architectural firm of SmithGroupJJR will design the project, which is expected to provide an average of 47 on-site construction jobs.

Design work is scheduled to begin immediately, and the construction schedule will be determined as part of the design process.
