UM-Flint offers learning, fun at youth summer camp

The University of Michigan-Flint will run a variety of camps on its campus this summer, giving students of all ages a chance to experience the college setting, have fun, and learn from university experts. Some camps include overnight stays in university housing, while others are day adventures. The camps cover career fields and topics of learning, such as music, engineering, math, science, physical fitness and reading. Most provide scholarships, reduced rates, or are free. Regents meeting set for June 16

The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. June 16 in the Anderson Room of the Michigan Union. To offer public comment at the meeting, sign up in advance at regents.umich.edu/meetings/publform.html. Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. People with disabilities who need assistance should contact the Office of the Vice President and Secretary of the University in advance at 734-763-8194. Return on investment: UM-Dearborn report shows impact on graduates, state

A new Economic Opportunity Impact Report conducted and compiled by Associate Professor of Business Economics Lee Redding, iLabs Director Tim Davis and Decision Sciences Lecturer Anne-Louise Statt, finds that UM-Dearborn graduates earn more than their peers nationwide. The report showed those whose most advanced degree is a UM-Dearborn bachelor’s earn $81,101, $43,140 more than if they had not earned that degree. It also shows that those whose most advanced degree is a UM-Dearborn master’s earn $105,600, $48,000 more than if they had not earned that degree.

UMHS joins Together Health Network

The U-M Health System has joined Together Health Network as a referral provider for complex quaternary health care services. Quaternary care services are those complex inpatient and outpatient services that generally are provided only in selected settings such as the U-M Medical Center hospitals in Ann Arbor. Some examples include selected transplant services, specialized pediatric care, and certain cancer clinical trial services that Ascension Michigan and Trinity Health do not offer. Together Health is a statewide physician-led clinical network of health care providers.

Bentley Library makes more historical images available for use

Arthur Miller the year he wrote “The Crucible.” These pictures are among more than 17,000 digitized images recently added to the Bentley Historical Library’s Image Bank. They feature iconic U-M moments, places and people, and historical images from the state of Michigan. As the U-M bicentennial approaches, the images are useful for promoting or researching unit histories. They can be downloaded for free. Some may have copyright restrictions.
