A student referendum was held in November 1966 and overwhelming opposition was voiced to the university maintaining class rankings that would be used by the Selective Service system. A teach-in Nov. 2 attracted 4,000. Student Government Council severed its formal ties with the university administration. When the Board of Regents rejected the withholding of class rankings from the Selective Service authorities, 1,000 students conducted a sit-in in the Administration Building.
