Don’t Miss: Services for Students with Disabilities’ conference set

Dr. John Greden, executive director of the U-M Depression Center, is among scheduled speakers at Honoring the Past & Exploring the Future, the Services for Students with Disabilities first all-day conference Friday at Hatcher Graduate Library, Room 100.

Greden, who proposed establishment of the Depression Center in 1999, will speak at 9:30 a.m. The conference, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., celebrates SSD’s 40th anniversary. Among the topics presented will be the history of law and disability, how to treat mood disorders and the technology behind driverless cars. There also will be an alumni panel discussion on SSD and the impact its services have had for students with disabilities.

Other guest speakers include Sam Bagenstos, professor of law at the Law School, and Lawrence Burns, professor of engineering practice at the College of Engineering. Also present to give opening remarks will be Dean of Students Laura Blake Jones, Vice President of Student Life E. Royster Harper and Regent Katherine E. White.
