In his few short weeks since assuming the University of Michigan presidency, President Mark S. Schlissel has immersed himself in learning about the university and the state he now calls home.
He has attended his first “football” game at Michigan Stadium, watching as Manchester United defeated Real Madrid 3-1 as part of the Guinness International Champions Cup summer tournament. He’s taken a campus tour and checked out the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
He’s met with Gov. Rick Snyder and several state legislators. He’s chatted with Ann Arbor Mayor John Hieftje and presided over his first Board of Regents meeting.
Many of those moments have been captured in photographs to mark the first 100 days of the university’s 14th president.
Additionally, before arriving on campus July 14, Schlissel and his wife, Monica Schwebs, took a two-week vacation tour of Michigan. See the places they explored and the stops they made along the way.
