Faculty and staff salary report for 2024-25 now available

Faculty salary increases at U-M’s Ann Arbor campus for 2024-25 averaged 4.2%, according to figures from the university’s salary report released Dec. 9. Salary increases for staff averaged 2.9%. Merit salary increases for executive officers and deans averaged 3.5%. The 2024-25 Faculty and Staff Salary Disclosure Report can be found on the Human Resources website.

W-2 forms to be available via electronic or mail delivery

The 2024 Form W-2 Wage and Tax Statements for University of Michigan employees will be available in January 2025 via electronic or hard-copy delivery. An electronic version will be available in early January, and emails will be sent regarding how to view and print the form electronically using the Payroll Tax Forms (W-2, W-4) link from Wolverine Access at wolverineaccess.umich.edu. Alternatively, hard-copy W-2s are scheduled to be mailed in late January. To ensure prompt delivery of tax forms by the U.S. Postal Service, the employee’s current home address must be correct in U-M records. Addresses can be updated in Wolverine Access by selecting the Campus Personal Information link and then Addresses. Addresses also may be updated using the “Address/Personal Data Form” available on the Human Resources website.

Nominations sought for president’s international education award

The Office of the President is seeking nominations for the President’s Awards for Leadership in International Education. Nominations will be accepted in two categories this year: the award for Distinguished Service and, new in this Year of Global Engagement, the award for Rising Professionals. Nominees should demonstrate sustained dedication and leadership in international education. The Distinguished Service category honors individuals with a long-standing, sustained commitment to advancing international education, and the Rising Professionals category, by contrast, is intended for early- to mid-career professionals who have made notable contributions while demonstrating exceptional potential for future growth and leadership. The nomination deadline is Feb. 15, 2025. More information about the awards and how to submit a nomination can be found online.

UM-Flint, UM-Dearborn set schedules for fall commencement

Fall commencement ceremonies for UM-Flint and UM-Dearborn will take place Dec. 15 and Dec. 21, respectively. UM-Flint will celebrate its summer and fall graduates during three ceremonies for its five schools and colleges at the Riverfront Conference Center. Close to 900 students are eligible to participate. The commencement schedule is: College of Innovation & Technology and School of Nursing, 11 a.m.; College of Arts, Sciences & Education, 1:30 p.m.; College of Health Sciences and School of Management, 4 p.m. For more information about the UM-Flint commencement. UM-Dearborn will award 713 degrees during two 90-minute commencement ceremonies at the Fieldhouse. Human Performance & Sport Science Center seeks feedback

The Human Performance and Sport Science Center at U-M is asking for the campus community’s help in shaping the center’s priorities by completing a brief survey. The feedback will help guide future initiatives. The HPSSC is a hub for advancing research, education and innovation in sport science. Focused on the intersection of athletic performance and human health, it fosters interdisciplinary study to connect scientific discovery with enhanced outcomes in health, wellness and performance. Through experiential learning opportunities, HPSSC engages students in applied research and hands-on projects, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to become leaders in the growing field of sport science. It also is building a community of researchers, athletic teams and industry leaders to drive sport science innovation. Learn more about the HPSSC and find a link to the survey.

Record print edition on hiatus until winter semester

The Dec. 9 edition of The University Record will be the final print edition of the fall semester. The Record’s print version will resume for the winter semester Jan. 13, 2025. Daily email delivery will continue its fall schedule through Dec. 16. The Record email will then take a break for the holidays and resume for the winter semester Jan. 8, 2025. Major faculty or staff news that occurs over the holidays may be posted to the Record’s website, record.umich.edu.
