A self-described non-traditional student, Mahalina Dimacali enrolled at U-M at age 27 and will graduate at 30. After high school, she worked for years in education, collections care, and maintenance in land-based museums.

During his freshman year at UM-Dearborn, Neil Nakkash decided to take a gamble and join a policy research team working on issues impacting his ethnic group. Growing up in nearby Oakland County, he had always found politics interesting, so he decided to give policy a try.
