The Office of the President is accepting student applications for a proposed project, event or research endeavor ahead of President Santa J. Ono’s March 7 inauguration.
The poster session will take place at Stamps Auditorium. Submissions will be evaluated for the chance to receive up to $5,000 to help carry out their proposed idea.

Faculty members are encouraged to share the opportunity with students so they can complete and submit a brief online application describing their project before the Feb. 3 deadline.
U-M students from all three campuses can submit an idea as a team or individual. Ideas should be related to one of the inauguration symposium topics — intersection of race and the identity of U-M, or fighting climate change.
Applicants who are selected as semi-finalists will be asked to create a physical poster to display at the symposium and will be required to attend.
In conjunction with the symposium, each poster will be evaluated by a panel of judges, with at least five posters per theme selected for funding.
Ono will be formally installed as U-M’s 15th president in an inauguration ceremony March 7 at Hill Auditorium.
Inauguration Day activities will include an academic symposium from 9-11:30 a.m., the installation ceremony from 3-4 p.m. and an all-campus reception from 4-5:50 p.m.
Ono began a five-year term as U-M’s president Oct. 14, 2022.
