Regents schedule regular Detroit, Grand Rapids meetings

The Board of Regents on April 18 approved a meeting schedule for the next three years that includes regular meetings in Grand Rapids and Detroit.

Both those cities have hosted Board of Regents meetings in the past, but not on a regular basis. The most recent meeting in Detroit was in 2011; in Grand Rapids it was in 2010.

In each of the next three years the board will maintain its schedule of 11 monthly, one-day meetings with no meeting in August. In 2014, the October meeting will be in Grand Rapids instead of on the UM-Flint campus. In 2015, the March meeting will be in Detroit instead of on the UM-Dearborn campus. In 2016, the May meeting will be in Grand Rapids.

The board has been meeting once each year on the Flint and Dearborn campuses. In the coming years, the board will meet annually on either the Flint or the Dearborn campus, with the other date being used for a meeting in Grand Rapids or Detroit.
