Don’t miss: U-M Detroit Center to co-host stage at Concert of Colors

In celebration of the 20th Annual Concert of Colors, the U-M Detroit Center and Michigan State University’s Detroit Center will co-host an Outdoor Stage of music and culture from 2-9 p.m. July 14-15 in Detroit’s Midtown area.

The stage, behind the U-M Detroit Center, features 14 acts covering a multitude of music and performance genres. This year’s headliners include DJ and producer DJ Captn20 and jazz and R&B singer Ben Sharkey.

Other notable performances include jazz-blues fusion group the Chris Canas Band, the gospel-jazz Tim Ellerbe Project, African-inspired Puerto Rican folk band BombaRica, and spoken-word musical poet Keir Jackson. To kick off the Outdoor Stage festivities, a reception for U-M faculty and staff will take place from 2-3 p.m. July 14 at the Detroit Center. Complimentary parking and light refreshments are available for attendees.
