Former College of Architecture and Urban Planning Dean Robert Metcalf, pictured circa 1960-70, was honored with the President’s Award for lifetime achievement from the American Institute of Architects Michigan chapter in 1999. Metcalf also was commissioned for more than 40 architectural projects, most residential. This month in history (16 years ago)This month in history (16 years ago) The North Campus Commons, one of the original buildings on North Campus, was renamed Pierpont Commons in a ceremony honoring Wilbur Pierpont, vice president emeritus and professor emeritus of accounting, and his wife, Maxine.
