A search committee has been selected for the executive director of university audits, the Office of the President has announced. The position reports to the president of the university.
“The integrity of the university’s operations is paramount, and the executive director of university audits plays a critical role in ensuring this standard of excellence,” President Mary Sue Coleman says.
Current Executive Director of University Audits Carol Senneff will retire this year after nearly eight years in the position.
The executive director of university audits is responsible for the conduct and operations of all internal audit activities, and supporting the system of internal controls and risk management across the university.
Cheryl Soper, controller and director of financial operations, has agreed to chair the committee.
Additional members are:
• Tony Denton, executive director, University Hospitals; chief operating officer, U-M Hospitals and Health Centers.
• John Gohsman, executive director of NextGen Michigan Program, Information and Technology Services.
• Elizabeth Heinrich, associate athletic director, chief of compliance services, Department of Athletics.
• David Masson, associate vice president and deputy general counsel, Office of the Vice President and General Counsel.
• Sean O’Neil, chief financial officer, Dean’s Office, Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
• Marvin Parnes, associate vice president for research and executive director, Division of Research Development and Administration, Office of the Vice President for Research.
• Stephen Schram, director of Michigan Public Media, Office of the Vice President for Communications.
Lisa Connolly, project manager, Office of the President, will act as president’s liaison to the search, and Craig Smith, partner, Opus Search Partners, will assist with the search.

The Office of the President asked committee members to work with executive search firm Opus Search Partners to conduct a national search that would include nominations of both internal and external candidates. The committee will present a slate of recommended candidates as soon as possible.
