Kai Zheng, assistant professor of health management and policy in the School of Public Health and also in the School of Information, has been selected to receive the 2011 New Investigator Award from the American Medical Informatics Association. This award recognizes early-career achievements in health informatics and significant scholarly contributions on the basis of scientific merit and research excellence.

Dr. Eva Feldman, director of the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute and a professor of neurology, has been selected to become president of the American Neurological Association. She will serve a two-year term as head of the 1,800-member ANA. In her work, Feldman focuses on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and the neurological complications of diabetes.
