Fuligni named MM&D creative director

Kelly Fuligni has been named creative director for Michigan Marketing & Design (MM&D), U-M’s in-house advertising agency.

A seasoned professional with more than 20 years of design and advertising experience, Fuligni is the first creative director in the department’s history. Part of the Office of the Vice President for Communications, MM&D handles marketing communications, website development and graphic design projects for campus clients at U-M’s administrative units and 19 schools and colleges.

Before joining U-M, Fuligni held creative management positions at American Greetings and Borders Books and Music. While at Borders, she led the creative team, overseeing both print and Web projects, and also was responsible for creative execution and ongoing maintenance and development of Borders.com.

As MM&D creative director, Fuligni will have responsibility for the overall creative output of the agency, including oversight of the creative team and processes.

“We’re delighted to welcome Kelly to Michigan,” says Director of Marketing Matt Schlientz. “Her appointment is part of our commitment to strengthen the U-M brand, and we’re excited to be able to leverage her knowledge in this effort. And Kelly’s strong creative background will enhance the services we can provide to our university clients.”

Fuligni earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in advertising design from Syracuse University. She lives in Northville.
