This month in history (40 years ago)

University departments are asked to develop specific staffing goals and timetables for hiring women as part of the completion of an affirmative action program. In a memorandum, President Robben Fleming asks that by Feb. 15 each department complete and file projections for appointment of women through the 1973-74 academic year. — The University Record
