Awards
Tal Carmon, assistant professor of electrical engineering and computer science, College of Engineering, has received a Young Investigator Program award from the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research. His research project in the area of photonic micro-electro-mechanical systems is titled “Continuous On-Chip Extreme UV Emitter.”
John Hart, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, College of Engineering, will receive the 2009 American Society of Mechanical Engineering Pi Tau Sigma Gold Medal, awarded to an engineering graduate who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in mechanical engineering within 10 years following receipt of a baccalaureate degree.
Tami Remington, clinical associate professor of pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, and clinical pharmacist, is the recipient of the Anthony V. DeVito II Memorial Award for 2009. The award is presented annually by the Geriatrics Center to recognize outstanding service, dedication and commitment to excellence in geriatrics education in Michigan. Remington participates in multidisciplinary primary care of older adults with complex conditions, provides clinical geriatrics training to pharmacy students and residents, and contributes to the education of medical and social work students, residents and fellows, among other contributions.
