The Vienna Boys Choir performs “Christmas in Vienna” at 4 p.m. Nov. 29 in Hill Auditorium. In 1498, Emperor Maximilian I gave instructions that there were to be six singing boys among his court musicians. That date marked the founding of the Vienna Boys Choir. Today, around 100 choristers between the ages of 10 and 14 are divided into four touring choirs, which present a repertoire that encompasses Austrian folk songs and waltzes, classical masterpieces, holiday favorites and medieval chant.
