The Flame of Wisdom sculpture by renowned Mexican artist Leonardo Nierman sits near the northwest corner of the Biomedical Science Research Building. The sculpture and the Gilbert S. Omenn Atrium were dedicated June 10 in a ceremony at BSRB. The atrium was named after Dr. Gilbert Omenn, professor of internal medicine, Human Genetics and Public Health, and director of the Center for Computational Medicine and Biology, in recognition of a gift by Omenn and his wife, Martha Darling. He previously served as the U-M Health System’s first executive vice president for medical affairs. (Photo by Gregory Fox)
