Hyman Bass, Samuel Eilenberg Distinguished University Professor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education, professor of mathematics, LSA; and professor of education, School of Education, was selected to have his writing included in the Princeton University Press’ “The Best Writing on Mathematics 2016.” The annual anthology brings together the year’s finest mathematics writing. Bass’ article in the anthology is called “Mathematics and Technology.”

Stephen DesJardins, professor of education, School of Education; and professor of public policy, Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, was selected by the American Educational Research Association as one of 14 2017 AERA Fellows. Fellows are selected on the basis of their notable and sustained research achievements. The 2017 Fellows were nominated by their peers, selected by the AERA Fellows Committee and approved by the AERA Council, the association’s elected governing body. They will be inducted April 28 during the AERA 2017 Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.
