Series to focus on next generation of IT delivery at U-M

The U-M Office of the Chief Information Officer kicks off a series of articles on information technology services, projects and ideas that are playing a role in the university’s delivery of world-class computing and digital resources. Today’s article focuses on the Michigan IT Symposium and MiWorkspace.


Employees invited to free MHealthy tailgate events this week

Ann Arbor campus faculty and staff are invited to attend “MHealthy’s Big Tailgates” on Tuesday and Thursday. The outdoor events feature games, healthy tailgate snacks, tailgate activities, information booths, giveaways and more.


Medication disposal event set for Thursday

The College of Pharmacy, the Yellow Jug Old Drugs program, and the Village Apothecary Pharmacy are sponsoring a drug disposal event to help faculty, staff and students dispose of unused medications at Ingalls Mall from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday.

Moving targets

A traveling exhibit currently at the Dana Building commemorates the 100th anniversary of the extinction of the passenger pigeon, which once filled the skies over North America. In this video, Sara Adlerstein-Gonzalez, research scientist in the School of Natural Resources and Environment, discusses the exhibit and the once-abundant bird it honors. Departments across the U-M Health System have been engaging in friendly competition and weekend shopping to donate school supplies for area homeless youth. This is the third year that UMHS has participated in the event through the Education Project for Homeless Youth in Washtenaw County.
