UM-Dearborn launches doctoral programs for R&D engineers

Four doctoral degree programs are set to debut in the fall at UM-Dearborn’s College of Engineering and Computer Science. They are in computer and information science, electrical and computer engineering, industrial systems engineering, and mechanical sciences and engineering.


Deadline is Friday for 2017 Hacks With Friends pitch submissions

Information technology professionals across campus are encouraged to participate in Hacks With Friends, a competition planned for March 2-3. Pitches are being accepted through Friday and must relate to must relate to one of seven pre-selected hack themes for this year’s event.


School of Nursing receives grant to increase nurses with Ph.D.s

The School of Nursing is one of 28 schools nationwide to receive a grant to increase the number of nurses holding Ph.D.s. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Future of Nursing Scholars program will provide financial support, mentoring and leadership development for two U-M nursing students selected to participate.

Bicentennial colloquium

On Jan. 30, U.S. Justice Sonia Sotomayor and German Justice Susanne Baer were the featured guests of U-M’s first President’s Bicentennial Colloquium, titled “The Future University Community,” and at a separate discussion at the School of Music, Theatre & Dance.
