Peony season

The Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden, shown here during the 2013 season, is just beginning to bloom. The garden, which features more than 270 historic cultivated varieties from the 19th and early 20th centuries, is expected to be at 10 percent bloom by the end of this week, with full bloom occurring from early to mid-June.
