Members of the campus community are invited to learn more about The Connector project at a series of workshops Thursday.
The Connector is a developing plan for high-capacity transit from northeast to south Ann Arbor, connecting major destinations including downtown, U-M campuses and the medical center, and commercial areas.

The 32nd annual Blood Battle, which pits U-M against Ohio State University in a blood-donation competition, begins Monday and runs through Nov. 27.
The public phase of the university’s Victors for Michigan campaign opens Friday as the university community and the public are invited to a communitywide festival from 5-7:30 p.m. on Ingalls Mall, followed by a celebratory Main Event in Hill Auditorium at 8 p.m.

President Mary Sue Coleman will be one of three speakers at Michigan State University’s commencement ceremonies in December.
Coleman will speak at the advanced-degree ceremony, which will be at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center. She will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
Beginning Thursday, one block of East Madison Street between Packard Street and Thompson Street will be closed for construction activity associated with the Munger Graduate Residences project.
The road closure will run until summer 2015.
Each year thousands of students, staff and faculty from Michigan universities conduct research, provide expertise and supply person power to partner with community organizations throughout the state. In doing so they tackle such issues as poverty, unemployment, educational quality, health disparities and sustainability.
