Project to create 80 new parking spaces at NCRC

The North Campus Research Complex will get 80 new parking spaces in lot NC92 after the Board of Regents on Thursday approved the reconstruction project.

The $4.9 million project also calls for expanding the width of lanes in the road on the west side of the NCRC from 10 feet to 13 feet wide.

Unique hydrodynamics lab to get fresh look, new name

A $2.2 million renovation project to U-M's Marine Hydrodynamics Lab, which houses a 360-foot-long indoor body of water that serves as a testing facility for new commercial ship designs as well as a teaching tool for students, was approved Thursday by the Board of Regents.

Pam Heatlie to head Office for Institutional Equity

Pam Heatlie has been appointed the university's associate vice provost for academic and faculty affairs, senior director for institutional equity and Title IX coordinator. Her appointment, approved Thursday by the Board of Regents, begins immediately.

Rebecca Cunningham appointed AVP for research-health sciences

Rebecca M. Cunningham has been appointed associate vice president for research-health sciences in the University of Michigan Office of Research. Her three-year appointment, approved Thursday by the Board of Regents, is effective May 1.

U-M to sell Inglis House and 9.1-acre parcel near arboretum

The University of Michigan will move forward with a plan to sell the university-owned Inglis House and donate proceeds from the sale to student support through the university's endowment.

The house sits on a 9.1-acre parcel of land adjacent to Nichols Arboretum.

Central Power Plant expansion expected to reduce emissions

A new combustion turbine at the University of Michigan's Central Power Plant is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly, lowering emission levels halfway toward the university's 2025 sustainability goal.

Plans move forward for LSA addition to house Opportunity Hub

A new space in the LSA building will serve future University of Michigan undergraduates as the "hub" for connecting their passions to their education come summer of 2019.

The Board of Regents approved the schematic design for the LSA first floor renovation and addition project March 16.

Central Power Plant to receive upgrade

The Central Power Plant that heats and powers most of the University of Michigan's Central and Medical campus buildings will receive equipment upgrades focused on increasing reliability and safety.

The $23 million project was approved Thursday by the Board of Regents.

Elizabeth Moje appointed dean at School of Education

Elizabeth B. Moje, associate dean for research and community education, has been appointed dean of the University of Michigan School of Education.

Her appointment, approved Thursday by the Board of Regents, is effective March 1, and runs through June 30, 2022.
