Sexual assault reported at University Hospital

A nurse reported a sexual assault involving an inappropriate touch by a patient. The incident occurred at approximately 2:24 p.m. Feb. 7 at University Hospital. This case was submitted to the Washtenaw County prosecuting attorney for review of possible charges.

Sexual assault reported at Bursley Residence Hall

A U-M student reported on Jan. 24 that he was sexually assaulted in September 2018 at Bursley Residence Hall after meeting the suspect on a dating app. The student did not wish to pursue criminal charges.

Sexual assault reported at University Hospital

A patient inappropriately touched a paramedic in the emergency room at approximately 5 p.m. Dec. 21. This case was submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney for review of possible charges.

A University of Michigan student reported she was sexually assaulted by a known acquaintance in September at Markley Hall. She did not wish to seek charges and the case was closed.

A nurse was grabbed by a patient at approximately 8:50 a.m. Aug. 28. The investigation has been submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney for review of possible charges.

JUNE Student reports being sexually assaulted a year ago

University police received a report on June 2 that a student was sexually assaulted in Bursley Residence Hall by a known acquaintance in April 2017. An investigation is underway.

Two crime alerts issued for incidents in Northwood Community

Residents in Northwood Community apartments reported to the Division of Public Safety and Security three incidents of home invasions in December. DPSS issued two Crime Alerts for these incidents. There have been no additional incidents reported in the area.

Two sexual assaults by known visitors reported

Two students reported to police in separate incidents from Oct. 7 that they had been assaulted in residence hall rooms by invited guests. One was reported to have occurred in West Quadrangle and the other in Bursley Hall. Both investigations are ongoing.

Trotter House burglarized, no property taken

Staff at the Trotter House found a broken window on Sept. 25. During the investigation, it was determined that an unknown subject had broken the window and entered the building around 1:30 a.m. the previous night. No property was reported missing.

Dispute at Laundry Services between two employees

Two employees reportedly were involved in a dispute Aug. 1 at Laundry Services. During the incident, one subject reportedly brandished a hammer. No one was injured. The investigation has been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for review for possible assault charges.

Student charged with assault against another student

A student was arraigned Dec. 12 on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly threatened another student with a knife on Dec. 9. The victim was not injured. Court proceedings are ongoing.

Reward offered for assault at the Arb

The University of Michigan is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in an Oct. 7 sexual assault in Nichols Arboretum.

Sexual assault reported in parking lot

On July 19, a subject reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a man she knew while parked in the Krause Street parking lot July 17. The investigation is continuing.
