   Faculty grants available for research to prevent, ease poverty

   The 2021-22 academic year brings U-M Poverty Solutions’ sixth round of faculty grants to support research on ways to prevent and alleviate poverty. Up to five grants of $20,000 each will be awarded on a rolling basis.

   Grant program supports community-academic poverty research

   Three teams of community and academic partners will tackle various issues this year with $26,500 grants from the Detroit Urban Research Center and Poverty Solutions at U-M.

   Research shows how wealth begets educational disparity

   Research led by U-M sheds light on how wealth influences learning outcomes, and why it may be a greater driver of socioeconomic disparities in educational achievement than income alone.
