This year in history (75 years ago)

When Professor Elzada Clover set out to explore botanical specimens along the Colorado River in 1938, she would not only discover new plants to elevate U-M’s botanical gardens and broaden collections at the Smithsonian Institution. She would also make history as the first woman to navigate the notoriously treacherous Colorado.
