A place to converse
Wearing a trademark fur hat, Charles Eisendrath, director of the Livingston Awards and the Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowships, christens a bench outside Wallace House that he commissioned for future generations to enjoy. Eisendrath, who retires in June after 30 years as the programs’ founding director, says the bench is intended as a work of art as well as a resting spot.
