U-M announces plans for facility to test automated vehicles

U-M will build a unique, 30-acre environment for testing connected and automated vehicles. It is a critical element of a joint project to develop a system of connected and automated vehicles in southeastern Michigan by 2021.

Six will receive honorary degrees at Winter Commencement

Michele Norris-Johnson, NPR correspondent and host, will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree and deliver the Winter Commencement address for the Ann Arbor campus at 2 p.m. Dec. 15 at Crisler Center. Also receiving honorary degrees are Willard L. “Sandy” Boyd, William I. Higuchi, Dr. David Satcher, Lou Anna K. Simon and Helen Zell.

Board schedules strategic session in January 2014

The Board of Regents will cancel its formal session in January 2014 to instead meet in an informal, strategic session in New York City. The meetings will take place Jan. 16-17.

The University of Michigan Library is celebrating the sixth annual Open Access Week beginning Oct. 21 with a lineup of workshops and events highlighting university projects, research, and policies that allow the public to access and reuse the results of scholarly research.
