Women of Color Task Force to host conference

The Women of Color Task Force (WCTF) will host its 26th annual career conference 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Michigan League, Mendelssohn Theatre and the Modern Languages Building.

The 26th Annual Career Conference theme is “Work, Lead & Succeed in a Global Economy” and will focus on preparing and positioning conference attendees to think about their contributions to the state’s economy from a national and global perspective.

The keynote speaker is Kenya Ayers, former vice provost and associate vice president for academic affairs at Kettering University and current executive director of Esperanza Communications.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend professional, financial and personal development workshops, a networking luncheon, and shop in an exhibit area.

The large-scale career development event will feature workshops on a wide range of topics, including professional development, diversity in the workplace, work-life family balance, health and wellness, and leadership and systems change.

The event is open to everyone. About 600 people are expected to attend.
