The Board of Regents is canceling its formal session in January and will instead have a strategic session to focus on a variety of issues. The retreat will be in Detroit.
Board Chair Shauna Ryder Diggs made the announcement during Thursday’s board meeting. She said the strategic session would take place Jan. 21, 2016, in lieu of the formal session of the board.
“As has been the practice for the last three years, holding an annual strategic planning session has proven useful to the regents and the university community,” Ryder Diggs said.
The board will resume its regular meeting schedule Feb. 18, 2016, on the Ann Arbor campus.
