Student reports being sexually assaulted a year ago

University police received a report on June 2 that a student was sexually assaulted in Bursley Residence Hall by a known acquaintance in April 2017. An investigation is underway.

Patient reports being assault by a therapist

A patient reported that she was inappropriately touched by her therapist on multiple occasions at Domino Farms in June. The case has been submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney.

Patient assaults employees

Three Michigan Medicine employees were assaulted by a Mott Children’s Hospital patient June 2.

Visitor assaulted at Mott

A visitor was punched in the face by an unknown subject June 22. The victim did not wish to pursue charges, and the case was closed.

JULY

Patient reports assault by doctor

On June 28 a patient reported that she was inappropriately touched at Mott Hospital during an exam in 2015. The case has been submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney.

Student reported being assaulted at East Quad

On July 26 a female student reported that she was inappropriately touched in February of this year by a known acquaintance. An investigation is underway.

Visitor assaulted and jersey stolen

A male visitor was given a soccer jersey by a player after the ICC soccer game at Michigan Stadium on July 28. He was approached by a male subject who asked him for the jersey. The victim told him he could not have it. He was then was pushed down and the suspect took the jersey. This case is closed due to no further leads.

Napkin set on fire and placed in the trash

A napkin was set on fire and placed in a trash can on July 6 at the Medical Science Research Building.

Bike lock burned

A staff member had his cable bike lock burned July 6 while parked on the east side of Argus I. This case is closed due to no further leads.

Property stolen

A laptop and headphones were stolen out of a residence in the 1500 Block of Beal.

Bag stolen from room in West Quad

A bag containing miscellaneous items was stolen from an unsecured room in West Quad on July 22. There are no suspects.

Computers stolen from a locked room

Several computers were stolen from a locked room in East Hall on July 27.

Motor vehicle theft

A vehicle was taken without the owner’s permission. The driver showed up intoxicated at the Mott Emergency Room and left the area before officers arrived. The vehicle was recovered after a crash on Geddes Road in Ann Arbor. This case has been submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney.
