Sexual assault reported in parking lot

On July 19, a subject reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a man she knew while parked in the Krause Street parking lot July 17. The investigation is continuing.

Subject accused of sexual assault

A university contracted employee reported July 24 that a co-worker had inappropriately grabbed her on two occasions in recent months on the Medical Campus. The investigation is continuing.

Visitor arrested for aggravated assault

A visitor was arrested and charged in connection with assaulting his girlfriend and damaging her car. The incident occurred July 28 while the two subjects were parked in a parking lot at 1400 Nichols Dr. The suspect was charged with assault by strangulation, attempt to interfere with a 911 call, and two counts of property destruction.  As of Aug. 8, he remained in jail on $50,000 bond awaiting an Aug. 11 probable cause hearing. 

Equipment stolen in two campus burglaries

Camera equipment and painting equipment reportedly were taken in two burglaries on Central Campus. There are no suspects in either incident.

Several cameras, lenses and equipment were taken from the LSA building between July 1 and 5. There were no signs of forced entry.

Painting equipment reportedly was taken from a Michigan Union maintenance room between June 28 and 29. A room door that was found damaged was the likely entry point.

Moped stolen, then recovered

An unsecured moped parked outside the Shapiro Library reportedly was taken between July 3 and 10. The owner located it Aug. 5 outside the Michigan Union. There are no suspects in the theft.
