A U-M student views one of eight 12-by-12 foot sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt on display in the Union ballroom as part of World AIDS Day. Sponsored by the Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Affairs and University Unions Arts & Programs, the quilts represent more than 47,000 handmade panels appearing across the nation that were created in memory of nearly 90,000 people who have died from complications of HIV/AIDS.
