Tours of the exhibit Paul Outerbridge: Color Photographs from Mexico and California, the 1950s, are presented at 7 p.m. July 17 and 24 and 2 p.m. July 20 and Aug. 3 at UMMA Off/Site, South University at South Forest. These 34 photographs, taken in the 1950s in Southern California and in towns just south of the Mexican border, document Outerbridge’s late work with color. Thematically and compositionally, his images of the seaport towns along the Baja peninsula invoke the work of photographers Edward Weston, Paul Strand and Henri Cartier-Bresson while incorporating a color palette and sunlight in ways that revolutionized the medium. The Ann Arbor presentation is made possible in part by the U-M Health System and Ernestine and Herbert Ruben. For more information call 763-UMMA. (Photo by Paul Outerbridge)
